I love a still life but better than a watercolour still life, I love a lino printed still life...and this workshop is the place to learn how to create your own still life. I will share with you my own still life compositions, past, present and future. I will share with you my own approach to still life lino printing and inspire you to create your own. You will learn how to create, illustrate, carve and print a still life composition in a single colour, with other colour application methods. You will hand print an edition of 5, that you can take away with you, using a 20 cm by 30cm lino block, or smaller if you wish I will provide a series of everyday objects to create still life compositions, alternatively you could bring some of your favourite items from home. This is a day to develop your drawing skills and translate them into tracings to be then carved in lino. It is an intense day designed to stretch but also accessible for beginners. All materials are included along with tea/coffee and cake, please bring your lunch and an apron. There are a number of places in the village to grab a sandwich! The available dates for Spring are: - Friday 8th April - Thursday 16th June The workshop starts at 10.00am and finishes at 3.00pm. There are 6 spaces on the course, £80 per person and it is based at The Hill Memorial institute in Thornton Le Dale, with parking available in the nearby village carpark, a 2 minute walk away.
